Learning is not limited to the walls of a classroom. Humans have always built their knowledge by observing, exploring and interacting with their natural environment. Outdoor education, which is fully in line with this approach and naturally takes its place in our “Open Skies” educational project. Established in our school for several years, this program offers students a living, concrete and sustainable educational environment.

All children, especially those who need to move, learn differently, or who feel cramped in a traditional school setting.

Learning with the body and the senses

This sensory stimulation, at the heart ofoutdoor education, promotes better memorization and a more concrete understanding of the concepts discussed. Whether it's observing an ecosystem, measuring distances, writing a text inspired by a landscape or solving a mathematical problem based on a real situation, Apprenticeships make sense.

The movement, which is omnipresent outside, also makes it possible to meet the natural needs of children and adolescents. Movement helps to focus, Channel energy and to reduce stress, which has a direct impact on the availability of learning.

Giving meaning to learning

Outdoor education makes it possible to Connecting academic knowledge to the real world. Science, geography, French, mathematics or the arts: all disciplines can find their place outside and each lesson comes to life in contact with nature. Observing the sky, studying the seasons, identifying plants, understanding the impact of human beings on their environment or simply taking the time to think and create are all opportunities to develop critical thinking and curiosity.

This approach also promotesautonomy and initiative taking. Students learn to organize themselves, to manage different teaching materials, to respect common rules, to adapt to a changing environment, and to work together in varied conditions. This concrete appropriation of knowledge creates a strong link between self, the group and the world.

The “Open Sky” at the Vinet school

Our Open Skies program fully embodies these values. It symbolizes a school that looks to the outside world, open to the world, to nature and to others. This unique project is a concrete expression of our commitment to a sensitive education, inclusive and in line with the challenges of sustainable development. Designed as a pedagogical extension of the classroom, Open Skies is implemented in a structured manner by the entire faculty, offering students a living, thoughtful and rewarding learning environment.

Through this activity, we want to offer students different learning times, complementary to those experienced in the classroom, which nourish the students' academic, social and personal skills at the same time. The open sky then becomes a Space of freedom, reflection and discovery, where everyone can find their place and develop their potential.

Learning today to better understand the world of tomorrow

Integrating outdoor education means preparing students to become attentive citizens, responsible and aware of their environment. Learning is not limited to acquiring knowledge: it is also learning to observe, to respect, to cooperate and to To marvel.

By promoting a active and inclusive pedagogy, outdoor education allows each student to fully develop their motor, social and cognitive abilities. This approach offers a framework conducive to the expression of everyone, regardless of their profile or learning pace.
