Support tailored to each student’s individual needs

At École Vinet, academic support goes beyond occasional measures—it is an integral part of our teaching approach. Through structured guidance, individualized attention, and regular communication with families, we provide each student with the optimal conditions to progress at their own pace and develop their full potential.
Small class sizes, supportive teachers, and a consistent pedagogical approach create an environment that fosters success from primary through secondary school.

Methods

Study skills support

Each teacher works on study skills with students (vocabulary, mind maps, etc.), and there is a weekly session with the teacher to organise and plan their work.

Learning

Memorizing vocabulary, creating mind maps, summarizing lessons.

Organization

Structuring work and keeping materials in order.

Monitoring

Personalized guidance to help students progress and become independent.

Methodological support

Learning how to learn, strategies.

Some students benefit from support in mental management, using tools inspired by neuroscience. The goal is to help them become aware of their own learning processes—such as memorization, comprehension, and attention—in order to work more effectively.
Targeted sessions are offered based on needs identified by the teaching team. Academic difficulties can be overcome with appropriate educational tools, and it is essential to implement learning strategies, such as setting clear goals to promote success. Each student learns differently, making this a highly personalized approach.
An optional course of six one-hour sessions is offered on Wednesday afternoons, providing a space for discussion and targeted exercises. Teachers trained in mental management guide students in understanding their own ways of learning.

Homework

Supervised homework sessions

Each week, dedicated time slots are offered for students to complete their homework at school, supervised by a teacher. These sessions provide:

Immediate support if a difficulty arises

Help in understanding instructions clearly
Guidance to develop autonomy and consistent study habits
Academic support

Targeted support: programmes designed to overcome learning challenges

Individually or in small groups, on a one-off or regular basis (minimum of 4 sessions, extendable if needed).

Integrated into the school timetable or scheduled outside of it, during lunch breaks or at the end of the day, depending on availability.

Provided by a teacher other than the subject teacher, for reasons of fairness and pedagogical approach.

Support classes open to external pupils

École Vinet also offers support classes to pupils enrolled in other schools. This personalised guidance helps to consolidate existing knowledge, address specific gaps and make steady progress through a structured approach. Families who are interested may complete the contact form. Our team will get back to them promptly to discuss their child’s needs.

Coaching

In a stimulating yet demanding school environment, stress, performance pressure, or fragile self-esteem can sometimes prevent students from recognizing their achievements and strengths. Coaching provides a dedicated space to work individually on these essential areas:

Building self-confidence

Recognizing and valuing one’s skills and accomplishments

Finding motivation and setting goals

Clarifying objectives and adopting effective strategies

Self-awareness

Understanding personal strengths, assets, and ways of working

Silent study hall

The school provides a quiet room supervised by a teacher who helps with reviewing instructions and ensures a productive working environment. It is available at certain times for students who want to work, read, revise, or refocus.

This space is particularly useful for:

Students who are easily distracted

Students who need a reassuring structure for independent work
Students seeking calm moments during their day
